STEVE BLASS

Steve Blass - A Pirate For Life

Steve Blass is both one of the friendliest and wittiest people I have ever met.  Furthermore, the man does not seem to have an enemy in the world.  There is no doubt in my mind that it was these attributes that helped him get past the abrupt end to his superb baseball career.

"Steve Blass Disease," the inexplicable loss of control when throwing a baseball, has become a part of the American lexicon.  And without doubt, Steve's battle with his control and the painful aftermath is the hook that will move baseball fans to pick up a copy of "A Pirate For Life."   But as Steve says all the time, if he only had two bad years out of the sixty-nine that he has lived, he is way ahead of the game.  I could not agree more.
