The umpires made three dreadful calls against the Yankees, and the only time Girardi bothered to argue was a play at first, and the "discussion" lasted about three seconds and looked more like he was asking the umpire where he was going to dinner after the game.
Then a Padres runner likely missed third base on his way home to make it a 5-2 San Diego lead, and Girardi didn't even appeal.
Where's the fire? Where's the outrage? Doesn't Girardi care anymore? Or has a week in California mellowed him?
The Yankees got Curtis Granderson back tonight. Jeter's back. Soriano's back. These guys have a shot at a wild card with two months to go. But not if they sleep walk like their manager did tonight.
