ERIk sherman

Erik Sherman is a baseball historian and the New York Times best-selling author of eight books on baseball. Sherman's niche is writing human-interest baseball stories that transcend the sport.  His most recent book, DAYBREAK AT CHAVEZ RAVINE: FERNANDOMANIA AND THE REMAKING OF THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS, was released in June of 2023 and was nominated for a Casey Award--given for Baseball Book of the Year.  Erik was a 2023 inductee to the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame for his baseball writing and hosts the 'Erik Sherman Show' podcast. His next book, co-written with Red Sox great Dwight Evans, is entitled, "DEWEY: Behind the Gold Glove," and will be released in July, 2024. Sherman has been writing professionally since he was 14 years old. Several years after attending Emerson College in Boston, he began writing books.  His first, Out At Home, with former Dodgers and A’s outfielder Glenn Burke, who invented the ‘high five’ and died tragically of AIDS, is currently being made into a mini-series by actress/producer Jamie Lee Curtis.  Sherman is the co-author of four other highly acclaimed baseball autobiographies:  A Pirate For Life (with Steve Blass), the New York Times bestseller Mookie: Life, Baseball, and the ’86 Mets (with Mookie Wilson), Davey Johnson: My Wild Ride In Baseball And Beyond, and the New York Times best-seller, After The Miracle: The Lasting Brotherhood of the '69 Mets (with Art Shamsky). Sherman is also the author of 'Kings of Queens: Life Beyond Baseball With The ’86 Mets' and  'Two Sides of Glory: The 1986 Boston Red Sox In Their Own Words.' Erik is an annual lecturer at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
